What we keep, and what we tell you

Privacy

This site is run by Tim Whitrow and his family for the Sea Dragon voyage. It collects personal information in two places only.

Email updates

When you sign up for updates we keep your email address and, if you give it, your name. We use them to send news about the voyage and for nothing else. We don't sell or share the list. To leave the list, reply to any update or email tim@seadragonvoyage.com, and we'll remove you.

Enquiries

When you send a sponsorship, media or general enquiry we keep what you type in the form: your name, email, company or outlet, and your message. We use it to reply to you and, for sponsorship, to carry on the conversation. If you tick the box for updates, your email goes on the list above.

Where it's stored

Form data is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare in Australia, reachable only by the people running the voyage. The site itself is served by Cloudflare, which logs requests the way any web host does.

Donations

Donations are handled by GoFundMe on its own site under its own privacy policy. We don't see your payment details.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to count visits. It doesn't tell us who you are.

Your rights

Ask us at any time what we hold about you, and we'll show you, correct it or delete it: tim@seadragonvoyage.com.

Disclosure of sponsored items

Some of the equipment on Sea Dragon, and some of the money that pays for the refit, comes from sponsors and donors. We say so. Partners are listed on the sponsors page once they've agreed to be named, and when a sponsored, donated or paid-for item is mentioned on this site or in the captain's log, we identify it as sponsored.

No sponsor has a say in what Tim writes, and no agreement gives a sponsor any influence over decisions that affect the safety of the boat.

The record attempt

The voyage is a Guinness World Records attempt. Guinness World Records sets the rules and verifies the evidence after the voyage. Nothing on this site should be read as saying a record has been awarded or that the attempt is endorsed.
